I’m Hilary, the creative heart behind freehand design.
I have a strong passion for illustration and love developing my creativity across all media types. I am pleased to offer a custom design service from my home studio in Raglan, New Zealand.
My week is spent producing work for a range of client projects, as well as continually developing my craft of hand-drawing and painting whenever possible. I often draw inspiration from our local bird life and unspoilt landscapes, while most recently I have been introducing botanical subjects to both sketches and paintings.
I have exhibited paintings at the Depot Artspace in Devonport, the Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa and currently sell artwork privately as well as through local galleries and creative markets in Raglan.
My design life started with studying Graphic Design and Digital Media at Media Design School in Auckland. I now have corporate, agency and freelance design experience.

I’m always interested in meeting new people through my work and welcome clients to discuss projects of all sizes.
Feel free to get in touch!
